"Glass & Virtues"
A Look Back at the World of the 2026 Competition
The “Glass & Virtues” theme invites participants to rethink glass packaging as a true driver of well-being. Students are encouraged to design packaging that highlights product benefits, natural ingredients, and emerging consumption rituals. Inspired by nature, each design must engage the senses while telling a compelling story. More than simply a container, glass becomes an everyday object that combines aesthetics, transparency, and sustainability, serving both consumer well-being and environmental responsibility.

New for 2026: The Rémy Cointreau Special Award
A Special Edition!
This 17th edition marks a major milestone in the history of the Verallia Design Awards with the introduction, for the first time, of a special award developed in partnership with a client. Created in collaboration with the Rémy Cointreau Group, this new challenge gave students the opportunity to work from a real-world brief, directly connected to market expectations and industry challenges.
The Rémy Cointreau Special Award was presented to Andy Marie-Joseph, a student at École de Design Nantes Atlantique, for his project, Flow.
